  1. Craig Musselman. Cambridge Ontario Canada. Graphic Designer, Photoshop specialist, Artist, Physics graduate, Advanced Geocache Puzzle Creator, Robotics programmer.
  2. I have produced various other books on local and international artists, word puzzle game books, and my photography. My art is on various novel covers, and featured in publications like Advance Photoshop Magazine, Imagine FX, and other Scifi/Fantasy Books.
  3. Summer 1981.
  4. The book is already good enough to go right now, but still tinkering with some little extras I might add.
  5. Serious work started in early February 2023, so ongoing over 14 months now.
  6. I started writing ideas on paper, keeping a binder full of notes with a rough outline for each item. I moved on to a spreadsheet with more details and to be able to organize them better. Once they were basically structured I consulted various chatbots for some ideas on how to improve and began compiling chat sources which I used to photoshop into the final images (photoshop compilation art is my specialty). Everything was then Compiled in Indesign. Along the way I sent out samples to various friends and online groups for feedback and suggestions.
  7. Having enjoyed seeing all the background magic items in movies like Harry Porter and the like, I decided to create a compilation of items that are not just another weapon for power gamers, looking back at my own campaigns I have always enjoyed the items that you can use for roleplaying, for downtime, and for making life just more magical. They were always the items that made the game memorable. A lot of the items are plot hooks for campaigns, and fun things for NPCSs and sidequests.
  8. There are several items that should remain in the hands of your NPCs heavies, but most of the items can just be given out like candy to make your world more magical.
  9. 214 pages at the moment.
  10. The book is set up as if it were an auction catalogue. There are four "appraisers" giving values in the book in their local currency. You can use those currency differences to adjust prices in your own world among the high, medium, low, and cheap values depending on your world.
  11. The auctioneer has tables in the back in tiers, with each tier being 20 items (d20) arranged from Tier 1 (Excpetion wonders) to tier 22 (Conversation pieces). In addition, there are tables that give a 5 category numerical ranking for each item based on Materials, Aesthetics, Versatility, Enchantment, and Niche (MAVEN Score) because some items are pretty, or rare materials while others are more magical, or more useful, or historic.
  12. I have outlines for how the items in this book were acquired (a family seeking their mother's creations), Extensive notes for Magical Plants, and a book of High level/Complex Monster Concepts called RUN AWAY!"
